Watching Frontline's documentary on the Madoff affair -- what a master fraud.

Watch it if you want to get a good course on embezzlement.

Federer wins : Signing off from Roland Garros 2009

Watching Roland Garros wind down today with Federer the eventual victor was historic. I felt part of history, privileged to watch him beat Soderling with a mixture of elegance, wizardry and power.

The final was not without its moments of drama. The participants in this drama included the crazed "clothed" streaker who startled Federer just as he was preparing to receive the Soderling serve in the second set. At first, it seemed that the streaker was trying to harm Federer. Turns out that he was trying to put on a hat onto Federer's head.. It took a gendarme to tackle this nut-job; the tackle would have made an NFL player proud.

After watching this match, NBC for some reason, decided to show excerpts from the Wimbledon 2008 final between Federer and Nadal. Today was the first time that I could sit through the last few games and watch Federer lose that gut-wrenching final.

As my Spanish friend Nor likes to say "Vamos Federer!"

Why this blog?

Last week, I started reading the book on improving memory power by the 4-time memory champion and cancer survivor Scott Hagwood . Among other things, Scott recommends keeping a daily repository, a diary, where one could write down their daily experiences.

As my PhD graduation induced trip to Spain draws nearer, I decided to embark on two projects : improve my memory and learn Spanish. This blog is a honest attempt by me, a very private person, to pen my daily thoughts, opinions and observations on to bits and bytes of the internet.
The expectation is that one day, I will return to this blog, read it, and wonder
Did this really happen?
